The Friday workout was a combination of Monday and Tuesday's. This week I decided to change it up a little and do the anabolic diet. I haven't been able to find any recommendations for workouts, so I was wondering if anyone can give any tips.
Should I stick with this, or go back to the CKD split? Originally Posted by B4Hand. Are you using the Anabolic diet for fat loss or muscle gain? From my own experience with the anabolic diet for fat loss power training just plain does not work. On my first run I tried to do this and was very unsuccessful with my workouts. By Wednesday I would have No energy or strength and felt burnt out. I came to the realization that this would just not work on my second run.
I have been back on the anabolic diet for 2 month's now and have experimenting with frequency and not focusing much on strength. So its a 2 week cycle. Where essentially you are hitting every muscle 6 times in 2 weeks. Which seems like a lot and I honestly thought I would burn out. So far I have not at all and have energy all week.
The way I do it is every day I pick an exercise from the following categories Quad dominant Hip dominant Horizontal push Horizontal pull Vertical push Vertical pull Ab's I do a few warm up sets for each new category then 3 work sets all in the range with the same weight with anywhere between seconds rest.
It's a very face paced workout and takes about an hour. I don't really care about working arms or calves. Because my main concern is fat loss, nothing else. The only twist I have been experimenting with is starting on Monday's I pick one of the 6 exercises to be a power movement.
Something to help maintain strength. I did 3 sets fashion working very close to failure. The only problem I see with this is the following workout whatever the previous power movement was is sore. So on that day I do a body weight only exercise for that body part. But so far I have Had success.
And body feels good. Short rest fact paced workouts on low carb's is miserable by the way. I did the cyclical keto diet for about 5 weeks mainly as an experiment to shed a little bf. I'm not trying to lose alot of weight because I'm simply not extremely fat. I just wanted to see if I could get my 6 pack back before the end of April while holding on to muscle. It's coming along pretty good so far. I don't have many problems with a keto diet, I've actually come to enjoy it.
One other question I have about the anabolic diet: At what point should I start the refeed? I know on the ckd you begin at your final workout, but in the sample menu for the ad it seems that you should wait til saturday morning.
